Quote: Do a price comparison between the KYB's and Bilsteins; if not too much more, go for the Blisteins. If a lot, then the KYB's are not too bad.
The KYBs are about $35 apiece. I haven't been able to find a part number for Bilsteins for a '64 Dart, but the QA1s are a little over $100.

Depends on how sloppy your steering/suspension is now, and if you want it to be easier to replace, because you are already there with everything out of the way!Think this one will do it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACDelco-45C1002 ... ab&vxp=mtr |

Hi everyone, Suspension rebuild on the '64 Dart GT is complete! Car no longer squeaks, doesn't bottom out on bumps and dips and the handling is very much improved. One thing that I was surprised by was that there was no sway bar, which was surprising since a couple of people on this thread suggested I upgrade the bushings to poly. Thoughts? Going to a swap meet this weekend to hopefully pick up some wheels to replace the stock 13's. Any suggestions on what size to go with? Not looking for mags or rally's... I want to keep the car looking relatively classic. Thanks a lot for all of the great info... I'll get some pics up shortly! Cheers, Bill |

Quote: Only put poly in the rear leaf bushings and the sway bar bushings, otherwise MOOG or good quality rubber everywhere else.
The Dart didn't have a sway bar installed. Did they not come stock?Lou Thanks, Bill |

I don't know about the Dart GT, but my base model '64 Dart didn't come with one stock. |

No sway bars in 64 as standard. (maybe optional, but don't think so) My 64 Valiant didn't have any either. I added 1 1/8 front 3/4 rear. |

In March of 64 I ordered a new Dart GT with a 273 and 4 speed and was told sway bars were not an option. Fred |

Sway bars were not optional in 1964. Looking for wheels? You know the 13's are a 5x4 bolt pattern, don't you? Not alot of options out there! If you are sticking with the original pattern, I would suggest moving up to 14" wheels. Somewhat better tire selection. |
