John....in spite of the caster pissing contest....I would recommend modest caster for what you are doing.

It took me several wheel alignments to get the Valaint where it was comfortable and fun. At one point I had too much caster and the car felt awkward coming out of turns.
Im in the same process with the DeSoto ...getting ride height and wheel alignment (4 wheels) to feel comfortable and intuitive.

For street driving I agree with Joshes and Lou's (Condrans) numbers. Its a very good place to start.

there is probably merit on both sides of that conversation:
the feel the drivers prefer, tires, road surface, weight distribution would all be present at that party.

I plan to follow tom c's recomendations,
it appears that Lou and Sandy are already using that direction.

FWIW, I arrived at my numbers through my own explorations (caster between 0 and +6 and camber between +0.5 and -1.5).

I certainly do not have the experience that others have with racing, but am happy with my settings in street and road course settings. I use stock type manual steering all the way and feel the power steering has terrible feel in comparison. My cars are light, so no need for the pwr steering. +4 caster is where I feel things work best all around on my multi-purpose cars.
