I'm in the process of calling them now haha. I will ask for Alex if he's available.

Waiting on a call back for a bit before I call again lol

I'm thinking it was a Jason/Justin that I dealt with.

I got ahold of Alex today after many repeated calls. The prices are waiting for final supervisors approval but, the ball park prices are $250 per set at the 5 set order and just under $200 for the 15 set order. 6-8 week lead time. I stressed that we needed them ASAP. He said that he would have the exact prices e-mailed to me this afternoon or tomorrow morning at the latest. (I have heard that line before by him.) Tom: There is a Justin there too. Maybe I'm dealing with the wrong person.

As I expected no e-mail from ARP on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. I guess I'll be on the phone Monday again.

I was not called back either. It blows my mind businesses can be run like this and people just have to deal. The customer service in the auto and performance game is literally why I have begun to get a shop going and began fabricating.....

Since you can get an "off shelf" stud set in the 190,000 psi material, without even spec'ing it's for a Slant 6, isn't it possible they have the 220,000 material in the same dimensions? Has anyone checked this? $250 seems pretty extreme for 14 studs+nuts... I may bow out of this.

Thanks again for your efforts,

Lou

I have to wonder how a 15% increase in strength is worth paying 2.5 times the price of the 190K hardware.

I am out on this one. I had my builder just get me the standard ARP ones.

Before they made sets specifically for the slant 6 we used the set made for the 455 Oldsmobile, maybe they offer the higher strength steel for that application.

That is exactly what I am talking about. Thanks, Seymour!

Hmmm so the 455 olds fits with no problems? I'll just order a set of those in 220,000 if they give me grief about the slantsix set or cost wise

I got ahold of Alex today (not by his neck though) and he e-mailed the prices. If we order 75 pcs the price would be 16.95 per pc. If we order 100pcs the price would be 14.84 per pc. If we order 225pcs the price would be 12.68 per pc. The nuts are .79 ea and the washers are .96 ea. I agree that these are over priced. That's over $260 per set on the 5 set order and a little over $200 on a 15 set order. Seymour : Are the 455 Olds studs the same length and diameter?

260 yikes but I need them so I will be buying a set hopefully we can get a group of at least 5 to get the price down to 200 bucks. I'm still in hopefully we can get a order going soon so I don't have to pay 260 lol

I will be buying a couple of sets too unless the 455 Olds sets work and are cheaper. It's still cheaper than blown head gaskets.

Has anybody blown a head gasket because the 190K PSI hardware was not strong enough?
