Look at what was required. 40 psi boost, methanol for fuel, ice-water intercooler and on and on. It's not add a supercharger and "MAGIC!"

You can balance on an edge of destructive power by juggling static vs. dynamic compression with different camshaft designs, while retaining the boost at the same level. Again, advanced cam design, complete with simulations that once was limited to being perfomed on large-scale super-computers, is easily achieved with a computer cluster - many small, low-priced computers working as one large.

BTW; Feeding SL6 data through such programs might come up with some surprising figures...
