Unless you have a car like madmax, the low gear set is a waste of time. What you gain in the 60' you give back at the shift. Max has a very light car, lots of converter, and makes a lot of horsepower.

There are no free lunches.

What gear are you running in the 'Ruster'?
I was thinking the low gear set would be advantageous for a 1/8 -1/4 (dual purpose) drag car.
I will be running 3.55 (with a 3.91 in reserve).

Charrlie you are frugal, rick is cheap.
I have seen guys at the swap meet selling stuff valued at $200 - but only asking $135 Rick Comes over offers them $80, they say no, then rick counter offers at $35 then he walks away and lets seller "think about it"

THen he goes back and gets item for $45.. plus seller throws in 28 items from the dollar tarp just to get him to leave.

I wasn't really considering the low gear set but figured if I ran across a set I would use it. Guess I won't waste my time on it. Thanks.

I run a 4.56 in the rear gear on the ruster. I also shift at 6200 or more. I have run 4.30, 4.88 and 4.56 works the best for me. I also need to get the car moving in the first 60' that's why I an going to try the low gear set. Greg

I think Greg is following me at Carlisle!! I have walked away from a bunch of stuff, but I have gotten a bunch of steals too.
