Have my transmission adapter on its way thanks to Charrlie_S! Got to work on degreasing the motor to prepare for gasket replacement and paint. I've uploaded new pics to FABO.

Still haven't heard if I will need to replace the head bolts if I replace the head gasket due to stretching?

No. Slant bolts are not torque to yield.

A little wrinkle to my plans. My current transmission has quite a few small leaks that will need addressed while it is out of the car. Instead of going through the hassle of replacing seals and installing the adapter ring for a later model crank shaft I found a great deal on craigslist for a rebuilt motor/trans combo from a 1969 Dart that will be basically a plug and play set up. That being said, the '81 motor out of the D150 truck is now up for sale if anyone is interested. I'll post a link in the for sale ads.
