Ok test #4 with pic: This is brake light with Philips 1157LED -Intense Vision series. You can compare it to the other photo above with the Extreme Version. Note: this is a better coverage than the Extreme, though there is still a band in the middle. I also swapped in the 1156A up in front in the turn signals just as a test, they actually aren't too bad. However having LED in the turn signal AND brake light causes my old flasher unit to not work. Check these pics (hard to do on turn signals cause it flashes) , this is with brake lights not installed BTW: Turn signal flash, Incandescent Turn signal flash, LED Sylvania Zevo 1157Amber |

This illustrates what I meant about Fresnel lenses -- your front turn signals are way down on output and light "punch" for other drivers to see, because that central "fireball" of light is missing with the LEDs. |

Ok and this is probably the last set of pics: This is example of Sylvania Zevo "Super Bright" LED 1157R red. LED Brake light: Here is far shot of Sylvania LED on left, Incandescent on Right. I am gonna do one more separate post to this thread that shows all of the Brake lights in LEd and Incandescent so you can clearly compare each. |

Tough to tell much from pics of operating lights, because the dynamic range of an image (whether on film or in pixels) is way lower than that of the human eye. Given the brightly-lit daylight background of these pics, those brake lights are probably OK. But it's worth to check them as described here because these are, after all, life safety equipment. |

Since I had originally started this thread with a question about the Flasher, I do want to update: I ended up with a United Pacific LED flasher for $13 on amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZ ... UTF8&psc=1 This is a handy one because it comes with a reversing option for the connection, which I needed it order to get it to work. I have now installed LEDs in the back and the front and everything is working as it should. |

I kind of doubt your front signals are working acceptably well, because of the optical incompatibility of the available legitimate LED bulbs with the Fresnel optics of your front turn signals. |

So where's the news LED's aren't as bright as incandescent? I've ran Mag-lights with the LED's, they run longer, they illuminate closer objects, but not further objects very well. Incandescents are brighter, see more further. I keep Maglites in my vheicles I'll tell you only if they're not LED. |

That's not "news" because it's not anywhere close to true. There are incandescents that put out more light than LEDs, yes, and there are LEDs that put out more light than incandescents.
