Are the engine mounts hard to get ahold of? The slant six I have access to has no engine mounts.
I have a set of slant six 80's truck mounts (but not the rubber parts), if you can't find them locally, send PM if interested, I will need a zip code to estimate shipping from Oregon.

Would it be poor practice using a 904 trasmission instead of 727 for my powerwagon?

Post subject:  Maybe...

The 904 unless 'prepped' correctly would eventually tank, it's not as stout as the 727, mopar did put them in 2wd 1/2 ton trucks for light duty use...

Ok, good so far. Trying to lighten the weight a little bit, yah know. Still gotta add the transfer case.

FYI- the 1980s 904t transmissions came with four gear planetaries like the v-8 units as well as the same number of clutches as the v-8 units. Still for a very high stress application like four wheeling a heavy truck, a 727 would be my first choice.

not to be a jerk, but i think i would rather have a NP435 or a T18 or T19. on the other hand, you couldn't give my best friend anything with a clutch in it, so i know how some people love their automatics.

After owning a super six powered W150 with big tires, I can say you will have lots of low end grunt and will get used to lots of downshifting on the highway. Expect the fuel economy to be somewhat bad, about the same as it would be with a 318, but better than the 360 was.
