Frank,

If you are writing a letter to LeMons, could you please also ask if we can have one race to grandfather this in?

We want to run Barber in Feb, and the car is much better than last CMP race, but now that's another thing to add to our list.

Our team would likely want to sign your letter too.

I have a 68-up column that we might graft in there this weekend, but not sure...

Feel free to call or PM me...

Thanks!

Lou

Lou, I emailed Jason earlier but I'll let you know on here too. Jay Lamm told me the new rule will be in effect for all 2017 races. No grandfathering even for Barber in February.

I'm waiting to hear back from John Pagel (LeMons chief tech/safety inspector) on the answers to my technical questions, but when I get anything I'll share it here. Jay is deferring to him on specific requirements, but it sounds like the circle-track style universal columns will be acceptable as long as they're attached in a secure manner.

Don't they have steer-by-wire yet?

Thanks, Frank. We are going to do the circle track aftermarket column too. Hope we can get it sorted by Barber... The car should be a killer if we get a last few things done. I am hoping to spend a whole day at Jason's thrashing before the race.

You'll be at Barber, IIRC? Would be fun to have two Slanted A-bodies out there (for more than the 4hrs at the last CMP race, anyway...).

Lou

No, we won't be able to bring the Dart to Barber. My team co-captain is going to be out of the country. I might see about doing an arrive and drive, but that's still up in the air.

The next race we do outside of Texas will probably be the NCM track in Bowling Green in the summer.

Thanks, Frank. I am hoping the V-225 team might make the Bowling Green race too...
