I really wanted to have a tach in the car. I didn’t want any modern one, and I also wanted it to be relatively small.
Found this one on a shelf in my garage. Good size, chrome like I wanted, but ugly modern.
After carefully dissembling the tach the face look like this.
I had a friend make a new decal for the face. White with a font similar to my original instruments. No reason for having 8000 rpm at top, so we went for 6000. That means the inside of the tach have to be slightly turned.
This is the final result. I am really pleased even though the whole project really tested my patience.
Sorry Autometer, you do make good products, but Sun is a bit more 60´s isn’t it?
