Cool. I would change the oil every 2000 miles for the next 10,000 or so to get rid of more of the sludge. If you have no leaks, then please do not open up the engine to rebuild it. Sounds like you have a nice running motor.

I second the front disc brake upgrade, and maybe larger wheels and tires. Those are major safety and driveability improvements. An OD trans is another good idea. Sounds like you can pick away at things here and there and not be in a hurry. Take your time and enjoy the ride, most importantly.

That thing is sweet!! Like DI said, I would be a little hesitant of cutting it up for a 4 spd swap with it being so original. It would make more enjoyable to drive with better brakes and suspension. Love that body style man.
