Good points there Dadtruck. That engine has been thrashed hard, and neglected after its drag racing stint buy mid nineties. When I got it it was a mess, someone had stuck a stock head on it, bolted up the Clifford stuff, stuck the old 390 Holly on top with only primaries working to get it out the door and sold. This car went through a local auction July 2007, did not sell, it then passed through four owners, and I got it Feb 2008 seven months later. Some high school kid had owned it and it showed signs of sitting unused for a length of time previous to the auction and didn't treat it very well. Benchmark: October 2012 I took it to the local 1/8th mile track running about the same as it is now and ran 10.352 seconds at 67.95 mph Bill |
