I have used Ford p. pins in the past because the early 289 pins were about the same length and .912 diamater... which is slightly over-size for a SL6 (.901) DD |

Just received my copy of the slant six book. I’ll. More reading it looks like my engine is the one exception to the rule for the rib on the water pump. It’s a 030 block built in mid 75 so it’s a forged crank engine. |

Yes... that is the change-over period and I have seen that "exception" before... No matter, read through the book and ask questions. It's a good guide on what it take to rebuild a SL6. DD |
