opened my eyes about cams
yes,the cam needs to match up to the other engine / vehicle components,
as it is the cam that sets the personality of the engine.

there are many fine cam sources, Oregon Cam Grinders is one of the
favorites of this group.

here is a link to their web site,

http://www.oregoncamshaft.com/

the grinds can be found by clicking on the red box at the very bottom of the page.

They have newer grind options than what is shown at the web page.
Call them and they will e mail a complete list of grinds.

That will be a bit on the small side for 10.3:1 on pump premium, but it can work with a sensible ignition timing curve. It will be easy to set up the valve train due to the 0.480" lift and the Slant head usually does not flow any better above that lift anyway. It will be pretty docile with that comp ratio.

I apologize, my memory was faulty before and I meant cam grind 346 (not 34, which is too big for most folks). 234/228 @ 0.050" and 0.476/0.479" lift (INT/EXH). I might still go bigger than that as the 225 really likes big cams, but the one you/Ken picked (grind #791) will work well too.

If it were me, I would probably do 1672 INT (240 deg, 0.506") and 1475 EXH (236 deg, 0.495") with a 106 LSA, and install/degree it at 100 intake centerline.

Do you think it’ll be able to handle a 2600-3200 stall speed converter?
