Bobby Rogers just posted on Facebook (Yeah, yeah,... haters hush!) that the Slant 6ers would be parked by the big tree next to the tower and concessions. Just like every other year for the past 21 years.

Rick, I'm staying at Abner's hotel in Stanton. Small local hotel with room for trailers in parking lot.

Thanks Brian!

Rob, we may be bringing 4 vehicles from the Covalt racing stable. Last years ROY David Shank wants to come and drive Ryan's recently put back on the road blue truck and a new rookie Austin Houpt may come in my truck. I will let you know for sure soon.

Maybe we can get 17 cars!

Rob, I just thought of sumptin! Austin is still a minor and since he is not yet 18 a parent must sign for him to race I would guess. The parents are fine with him racing and traveling out with us. I just spoke to them this morning. But since they will not be there is there a form we can have them sign and bring along? If you have a contact at the track that could give us that answer that would be great.

Not going to make this one. Brett's bachelor party/fishing trip is 9-7.

Rick, I will get in touch with them. They probably have the NHRA liability waiver form I can send your way.
We ran into that a couple weeks ago at Ohio Valley. CJ’s girlfriend came with us and I thought I’d teach her to race. I forgot about the parental waiver. :(

Brad,... :( But have a great time with Brett! We will race again...

At most sanctioned tracks a valid driver's license is all that's needed. I've never seen anything about under 18. The requirements at CC have always been somewhat more "relaxed".

Not sure how that got added in to Rick's post the other night, but I moved it now.

Anyways, I am definitely out of Clay City. The 7th is Teresa's birthday and we are going to see Cheap Trick and ZZ Top in Tinley Park. :D

Ok that would be fine then! No sure why I thought 17 and under needed parents permission.

I would make sure about the need for a permission slip. I have seen that requirement at a few racks over the years. I don't recall the details. The track is now NHRA santioned and might be more strict, then in the past. Better safe then sorry. Get it from the horses mouth.

I have had it bite me more than once. I took Kendall down to SGMP for a Slant race in roughly 2006 and again at Ohio Valley a couple weeks ago. Clay City track is under new ownership again.

I will make sure you’re covered, Rick.

Here is the link to download the form.

Dallas Clark (Kentucky Dragway race coordinator) said "You shouldn't need it..."

I'd print it (in color) and have both parents sign it and get it notarized before you hit the road.

The instructions say to mail it to NHRA HQ... Heck, I'd do BOTH!!

While I was talking to Dallas I also clarified our "No Crosstalk" and doing our own ladder and running 1/8 mile on Sunday... All good!
