Post subject: | Ranger/Explorer axle |
I've heard rumors that the entire differential from a Ranger or Explorer can be used in an early a with good results. I believe some of these vehicles came from the factory with rear disc brakes. I have to caution that this is a "rumor", I never verified it myself. Just thought I'd pass it along --- but if you look, tell us if it would work out. |

It would have to be a late model Ranger, as the old Rangers came with the 7.5" rear which is garbage. You want the 8.8" rear, which will hold up to *any* /6 buildup, and comes with Trac-Lok (limited slip), tons of gear ratio choices, etc. |
