If you move the HEI relay trigger to the old coil +12V feed it will stay on during crank and run. You should not have wired the voltage regulator relay there. Or keep throwing parts at it and not fix the wiring problems you created. Your choice. |

j3-14 br at resistor block to bulk head connector Q to ignition start, bypasses resistor bloock while in start |

Josh is right, this really isn't that hard. I wired mine exactly like the second diagram Badvert posted and it's run like a champ ever since. You can do it too. I really don't understand electricals. |

Update - So, I got it all working! I removed my ... *ahem* "expert" ... wiring and re-installed wires as if they were going to the ballast resistor. I wired the HEI without attaching it to any of the relays - straight ignition-to-module wiring. After fiddling a little with the distributor's rotor, it fired up! Next, I wired in the module's relay and we were once again cooking with gas. Just now I finally wired in the voltage regulator relay just-a-perfect and the engine roared to life again. Thanks for all your patience with me! |

I have wired 4 or 5 vehicles without a relay and all had @13 volts at the coil/module. So no relays for me. Just one more thing to go bad. And no need to complicate it if the wiring is good. Just my opinion. |
