I'm just curious, I've never heard of a solid strut-rod bushing. What takes up the up/down pivoting of the strut rod in jounce and rebound?"DW" |

'74 Sport, I wanted to help you out, so I checked a sway bar equipped "A-body" K-member/suspension setup that I have lying around. It would be difficult to describe the dimensions to locate the tab without a drawing. I have also seen sway bars that connect to the strut-rod. Here's what I'd do. I'd get everything together, locate the sway bar on the K-member then mock everything up to see where the tabs need to be in relation to the lower control arm, then weld them in place. Still, I can try to relay the dimensions to you if you want to try to struggle through deciphering my description. Of course, if I could figure out how to upload a digital image to this board... I appreciate everyone's comments. Thanks for your input. Dennis, you're probably right. Not having the tabs should be just a minor inconvenience. It should be easy enough to figure out where they need to be located, once I pick up a sway bar and mock it up in-place. Don't worry about posting a description, but thanks for checking yours. As far as posting pics here, it's really quite simple... 1. Go to http://www.moparpages.com and register as a user. Or anywhere else to your liking that will freely host your pictures. 2. Once you get the pictures uploaded to their site, right-click your mouse on the image you want to post here and click on "properties". The complete path and name of your image will be displayed. 3. Click/drag your cursor over the image name to highlight it. Right-click on the name and "copy" it to the clipboard. 4. Come here to "slantsix.org" and post a message. To show the image you need to type the following: (don't use spaces anywhere in this statement) Should work fine. Give it a try. | Post subject: | OK, Doc....time to post the pic and explain the 'Dutra Disc' |
This arguement rages on, on every mopar board.... I think doc's cutting edge idea with poly would work out fine, once the bugs are 'polished' out.... so Doc, how the R&D going????? -D.Idiot |
