In the information that Rafa supplied, the light is lite when a pressure differantal exists between the front and rear halfs of the brake system. For trouble shooting, it would be very easy to just disconnect the wire from the solenoid on the parking brake to remove it from the equation. If the brake light is still lite, then you have a pressure differantal. In which case you need to do more followup. |

Good idea I was going to test the e brake switch this evening. I am still a bit confused though, I know air in the lines can cause a pressure diff. Is there anything else that can do so? I am assuming a leak may also trip the light. Thing is, my brakes seem to be working well. I do think there is a bit of air still in the lines but I have bled the whole system 2 times and it seems fine? hmmmmm It will just take some more investigating Thanks DW |

I once had a car that had the rear brake line severed and pressed filet. It stopped just fine. It wasn't until I got up under the car and started checking things out, that I noticed the problem. The front brakes supply the majority of the braking force, everything may seem fine, but the rear brakes may just be along for the ride. |
