OK, that means the crank pocket is 1.55 inches, which is the early (1960-1967) crank. So your two options are Get a modified converter, with the small pilot and large spline, or convert the trans to small input shaft, which I don't recommend. Or change the crank to a 1968 to 1976 crank
Right on. The transmission shop quoted me $250 to modify my converter, so that's what I'm going with. This will at least get the engine in the car. Getting it driving will be another can of worms. I got the bracket for the kickdown but not the linkage itself, so I'm gonna see if I can hack up the 1bbl kickdown to make it work. I have a welder and a lot of free time at work...

I would say that's probably a fair price for that mod. While they have it apart, ask them if they can give you a little more stall speed, without increasing the price. My converters cost a lot more but they are new high stall racing units.
