Went with another 1/2 # boost and 2* of timing. Total timing is 23*. One step colder plug. Plug looked just right. It spun on the line. Suspension didn't even unload. After that run it rained and the air got real heavy. The seven runs after this I struggled with A/F problems so only made three more full passes. This car seems very tempremental with weather changes today and yesterday. I need to get a weather station. Shift light came on 200 ft or so before the line so I may have to use 2.76 gears. Got the convertor to flash to about 4200-4300. Tried different technics this weekend. To many lean conditions took out the head gasket today. Maybe put on a better head this time. Later
How close are you to an airport?

If you're close, you can use a scanner for ATIS weather information or call them (there's usually a phone number for ATIS)

The airport would be 17 miles from track.

You really need a weather station with you. You don't have to have the bestest, greatest, but one that will remain constant. Also, do not be concerned if your station gives a different reading than someone else's. Weather stations are finicky and rarely ever agree with each other.

Summit used to sell a really nice little all-in-one deal that was not too expensive. IIRC, it gives temp, humidity, barometer, and maybe altitude.

Congrats, Ryan. You are in a small and proud club of 10 sec Slant cars now.

Looking forward to seeing the car run at Kearney. I just saw and paid for all my turbo parts in MN, and they'll go on my '68 Dart street car in the fall/winter. I'll bring them along to that race...

I had to open a YouTube account just so that I could post on your running into the 10's.

Nice work, very well done.

Going racing again this weekend. Changing my pinion angle from -2 to -6 or so. Hope it helps the bottom end. Gotta get it down the track one more time this year.

Sounds good, Ryan. That thing launches pretty hard...

I could tell you were not so jazzed about "only" running low 11s at Kearney. The air was pretty bad, though.

Have fun,

Lou

Going to Pierre. You coming over Chris? I wasn't to happy with Kearney. Traction was poor and yes, air was bad. When the air isn't good its hard to get this car to run a good A/F mix. Hit 6000 rpm on the last run when the tires lost grip. Didn't like that at all. The muddy road entering the track was interesting also. I did like the pits though, all cement. Rear end is now 5.5* pinion angle and the intercooler tubes are fixed. Just expanded them with a exhaust pipe expander. Later

10.81 eh? How about a 10.79? Only if the air is good though. I'm always happy whooooshing. Later

Well, ran a 10.96 at 123. Air wasn't the best. Adjusted elevation was 4300. Still can't get a handlle on the A/F. About 13.5 is the best it will do. Blocked of the PV, bumped jet size 8 sizes and still no good. Currently 86 front, 94 rear and 14 gph meth jet. Only made one full pass. Seems as if the carb isn't boost referencing well. Later

So close again! When you talk about being boost referenced, do you have a seperate line (from the carb hat) to the powervalve that opens it when it sees boost?
