Mike requested his name be off the car before I race it. I was out working on the electricals and decided to try and scrape it off with a razor blade. I saw that I was scratching the Lexan, so I tried some headlight restoring cream. Used a powerball in my drill and it worked great. I guess the car is really mine now. :shock:

I got my switch panel made up too, and found out when I started wiring it that all my small terminals are down at the shop. Soooo, another order to Del City and I'll have some here at home too. :oops:

Well, here's why.

1. The main purpose of trans fluid in an automatic transmission is to make the series of wet clutches and bands engage and disengage at the proper times by hydraulic action. So what? Well, you really don't want super slickery high zoot stuff in your wet clutches because it will make them slip. Slipping is not good for clutches.

2. Cooling is the second most importantest function of the fluid. All it needs to do is carry heat away from you non slipping clutches and bands and all will be well.

3. Lubrication is 3rd on the list because it is not a high priority in an automatic transmission. If the trans is built correctly there will not be much wearing going on anyway. If it's not built correctly no fluid in the world will save it no matter how much it costs.

Type F is great in Mopar transmissions. It's all I've ever run on the drag strip and isn't that expensive compared to other brands or other types. I've always wondered how good a Ford transmission could be since the type F contains a friction coefficient :lol: :lol:

Got some more done today. Got wires run to the switch box. It now turns over, has ignition, water pump, fan, line loc, and fuel pump. Still have to wire up the tach, gauge lights, 3-Step, and tail lights.

Hopefully by next weekend I will be able to fire it up. :shock:

Looks like I finally caught a break at work. I had 4 days off between now and Clay City, plus, we went back on 11 hour days 3 weeks ago. Found out today the plant is closed Labor Day Weekend for our annual fumigation. I picked up an extra 2 days off. :D I can have 3, but if they want volunteers for Labor Day I'm on it. Too hard to pass up the holiday pay plus double time.

I may make it yet. :mrgreen:
