I figured the tach drive dissy would be the discussion.
What do I know.

So the pan will not be of much use to you K frame, tie rod, pitman arm folks.
But with my open frame I hope it will work for the external pump engine plan.
I estimated 10 quarts, maybe 8.
One of our members from down under had posted one last year, so I started digging around.
This is a marine pan, unknown year or configuration.
A couple of internal baffles cast on the floor, and HEAVY.

That pan will look so good polished and it will weigh less after it gets that mirror finish. Another benefit would be less wind drag. Such a good looking car!

Keep up the good work!

OK, now that we have seen the oil pan.....
Where on earth did you ever find a TACH DRIVE Slant 6 distributor????

Pan has some serious pitting issues, might not polish up so great.

Dist is second one I have ever seen.
Mark Goodman gave me a great idea.
Run the dist with a mechanical tach.
Run the engine with crank trigger.
Best of both worlds, old school and new school!

Its like only 3 or 4 people have access to the groovy old speed parts and Stan is one of them.

It's going to be a race car, it should look good, but not polished.
Too much work to polish it right now, maybe when I get old.
And Greg, I have seen some cool stuff in your circle also ;)
Life long collector of odd parts, with a slant attitude.

Paint the pan with wrinkle black paint (or some other color) and you won't be able to tell it's pitted.
Jus sayin....

Finished the transmission mount. Here is it clamped up before welding.

The second picture is one side of the mid plate tabs, also the notched mid plate tube.
The engine goes all the way to the firewall and between this tube notch.
I should finish all the other side tomorrow.

I am then going to start putting the car together to go over to the Dallas Mopar Show.
Just want to get it out of the garage and into the daylight.
I just hope it doesn't rain like last year!
