Ouch! I was prodding at Howard yesterday by email. I gave him a rundown of where his new ET fits in the overall Records... If he geared for 1/4 mile he would blow away his 11.279 C/A record from 2009. His 6.809 would secure that C/A record and force Ron Hamby to play with nitrous again to re-set another record. Take a look at where his C/A (2700#) record and new time stack up against the lighter B and even A records... He is quicker than the B/A 1/8th mile recently set by Team Green and a converted 6.809 (for what it is worth ) is quicker than our longest standing 10.710 B/A record also set by Team Green way back in 2003! That would be a really awesome heads up race between Team Green and the Hillside Six. I'm not trying to stir the pot or get anything started. I'm just reading what I see on the internet. His times are also quicker than the A/A records of 11.441 and 7.355. Maybe there IS something to having an aluminum head on a Slant 6 after all... |

I'll bet it is not just the head. But the head and everything else that was improved to take advantage of the head. Those guys have done countless hours of R&D on their toy. |

Howard told me 15+ years ago he was going to have the quickest N/A slant door car. Sounds like he is getting it done. We might have to put a new set of spark plugs in the old Lancer for that match race. Slantzilla, at least we have a race car that a fuel check could be performed on. I can't be to harsh on Dennis, it would be nice of him to show up at Cedar Falls next year with something running. Mark |

Howard told me that he "might" make it to the rescheduled Clay City race 7 November... He said it would be a last minute decision if he made it. He'll be looking at the weather... his workload (he sells farming implements & such) and he wanted to make sure he could run his delay box. I told him he could run the delay box... He'd have to figure out the work thing... God & Mother Nature decide on the weather... I sure hope he makes it and shows everyone that I haven't just been making this stuff up for the last several years... |

Quote: Pics of a time slip or it didn't happen.
Here's hoping Howard makes it to Clay City to prove that the timeslip does indeed go to his Dart Sport running a Slant 6 with his aluminum head on it... |
