3 cars raced a few rounds today.

I am sure Rob will post the details, and I'll share some media when I get home.

Yes. Race rained out after the first round of the 1/4 mile race.

We were able to get the 1/8 mile and one round of the 1/4 mile race done.

It was a really small crowd and if I had been more proactive we could have just round robbined it all and gotten it done. The track was very accommodating and seemed to be better organized than they have been the last few years.

I’ll send Seymour my time slips. I believe I re-set three of the four A/Alcohol records. I was nowhere close on the MPH on the 1/4 mile, but I think I nudged the other three by just a tad.

I didn’t get into the 6 Second Club, so that’s my new goal.

Rodney brought a street Lancer on a trailer and Lou drove his boosted 68 Dart from Virginia. Greg drove his 69 Hyper Pak Dart down to hang out. He and Lou had a good hike in the morning. The three of us grabbed some dinner at a decent Mexican food restaurant before heading home.

I think that is a lost cause.
I need to get my but in gear. I haven't had my car to a race in a couple of years. I hope I can make Knoxville, but I keep finding more things I need to do, and not all on the car.

Something to think about for future planning.

Aaron Sipple runs Kentucky Dragway. He’s a racer himself. The first time I took the Challenger there he took time out from running the big meet to help me with my methanol injection. He’s a good, down to earth guy. He reached out this morning:

I have some ideas for 2025.

I would like to include Slant 6 in our Dale Meers Racing Engines Nostalgia Combo race weekends when we do that and the Straight Axle Mafia. Those are fan favorite events that would be good to have a building period for that group. Think about it, we do two events a year like that.
I’ll post something in a separate post.

I got the record application and time slips from Rob Simmons yesterday. He set the A/A records for both the ET and MPH on the 1/8 and and the ET record for the 1/4 mile at Clay City. 1/4 mile ET was 11.399 and the 1/8 mile was 7.111 and 95.572MPH. Rob has worked long and hard to nail down these records. The Howard Davis tune up really put some life in Norm's old car. The 97.50 1/8 mile speed that Rob turned under better conditions indicates that there is a a lot more potential there. Congratulations Rob!
