Yup started raining when I was about 15 miles from the track on way there. On way back to motel it wasn't raining most of the way back then started again just as I got back there. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. |

Will Burns and family is here and "will" be at the track later today. Most of us are meeting at the Pizza Hut in Winchester, KY off of I64/bypass road for Lunch and a memorial to Seymour today. Greg |

Update - We found that the pizza Hut is no longer dine in. Most of us are meeting at the Pizza Hut in Winchester, KY off of I64/bypass road for Lunch and a memorial to Seymour today. Greg  We will have the meeting at the holiday inn Express Just off of US 60/bypass road and we will order Pizza to be delivered there. Greg |

The 2nd day of racing was amazingly fun and nice. Like old time Slant 6 drag racing. Seymour would be proud and happy. We got both races in - 1/4 mile first then 1/8th mile. Aaron Sipple called me at 3 PM and said let's start "early" at 5 PM because of rain forecast. That worked great. We did 2 time runs starting at 5, then went into eliminations. 13 cars made it and ran the whole first race. 11 cars made the second race and we finished that around 8:30 PM as the other event was getting underway. Guess who won the first race? Yep, Rodney Hargis. Dennis Schumers called it before we even started. The only two cars present at the first Clay City Slant 6 race in 1998 met in the final!! Seymour's 62 Valiant, with a badly slipping clutch all day, was runner up with me driving. Rick Covalt won the second race with Jeff Kendall at his dragster runner up. Over $2200 in prize money was handed out, and the hat passing got the track rental fee spread out over many of us. Thanks to Rob for spearheading the race coordination and setting up the track rental, and thanks to Dennis for fronting the whole rental fee! More news to follow... Lou Madsen |
