Yes Rick. This is ToadRacer the Lemons car. We decided to go with a simple 904 to start with. I have a 225/904 combo I bought about 8 years ago that has just been sitting there waiting for a home. Adam is going to weld the floor in and notch the K frame like yours for easier midnight engine swaps at the track. As we get the car sorted out with a stock drivetrain we will build something more racy. Stay tuned. |

More progress on ToadRacer... Almost past the “Flintstone Flyer” stage of its life...

Adam and I worked on ToadRacer yesterday. Passenger floor board all tacked in One each front and rear wheel studs removed to determine what we need for longer studs. Made a cover for the removed heater box hole. Removed engine bay wiring. Started cutting K frame to notch it for better oil pan clearance. Had to destroy the passenger side motor mount (bolt was spinning in the lower part and the nut was stuck). Started installing driver floorboard. And we talked a lot too. |

Adam has made more progress on the driver floorboard. I ordered the fuel cell, longer wheel studs and brake proportioning valve. Joe and I are brewing up some engine ideas...

What they said. It's an RCI 22 gallon steel fuel cell with a Polyethylene Bladder I also got a bunch of these Fuel Cell Anti-Slosh Safety Foam Tank Baffle Inserts 14x4x6, 6/pk It's the $350 option compared to the $1,000 FIA certified option. It will pass tech with just a bit more scrutiny. Lots of teams run similar fuel cells. We will build a cage around it, etc, etc. (The Cottonelle in the background isn't for the race car... I don't think...

Is a fuel cell required? or just highly recommended? Greg |

They actually recommend you use the stock fuel system without modification if possible. That's fine on newer cars or cars with a sound factory set up. That was not the case with ToadRacer. This also gives us more capacity and prevents the fuel slosh out the cap these cars are known for. Fuel spillage down the quarterpanel is a quick black flag with very little / no second chances. Frank dodged the bullet on that one with their Dart. They now have the high dollar fuel cell. |

Sooo,... It looks like I never did post those pics... I have to upload the photos I have to Image Shack to post. I found some while looking for other Slant 6 photos... Here ya go. These are from the race at Barber a couple years ago when we won the Index of Effluency award because we drove the whole race with no clutch.
