Post subject: | Engine flush compound =bad |
Good comments here, Engine flush almost cost us our slant 6. After draining the oil out there will still be deposits- all those deposits ended in the bottom of the oil pan and we had to change oil about 3 times to get it halfway straightned out, clogged 3 filters too! It sent all the trash to the bottom of the pan and formed a thick sludge stopping up the strainer and thus dropping the oil pressure down to the danger zone- We had to drop the oil pan, clean the strainer, rechange the oil. But Id reccomend something like marvel if I wanted to flush an engine out, never had no problems there. There is no substitute for changing oil on a timely basis! This car was owned by an old woman who never drove the duster over about 55mph, this slant was full of sludge! Also to anyone I reccomend gauges!! invaluable!! Alot of the times with warning lights they tend to go off when it is to late...just my 2 pennies worth. |

What is needed is a gauge with a warning buzzer. Something I can hear over the radio. |
