Aw come on Charlie you stated earlier you put the slicks on at the track. besides you could easily trade one of your 4 sets for a pair of really good street tires.

Hey, Tom, I'm not mad. If that is the consensis, then the Cuda is a Race car, that gets driven on the street.

70Valiant: I don't think any one would trade tires with me. The slicks are 22 inch tall, 9 inch wide, 13 inch rim size, circle track slicks. Everyone is scared their car would make a left hand turn, into the christmass tree.  :D

Actually, to me, it doesn't, unless I try to make a street slant race. I just enjoy working on the car and racing the slant six series. If I could afford it, I would go to all the slant races, just for the enjoyment, even though I have only made more then 3 rounds once.
Actually, the only reason, I put mufflers and tags on the car, was because the import and 5.0 mustang kids, I beat, used the excuse " I'm a street car and you'r a race car" . Now the only excuse they have for getting beat by a slant, is they're slower.

Charlie, whatever you consider your car I would hope that like me, you'd have way too much pride to go duck hunting among the street cars.

Besides, it's way too embarrassing getting whacked by streeters.

Hell I'm an avid hunter :) . I hunt avid's every chance I get  .

The last time up to Gainsville Raceway, I got taken out by a 62 Chevy, 350 with a blower. I had to give him .15 on the tree and he had a mov of .003. It was a good run. He was a street car.

Tom one idea was to count the four races Columbus,Hamiltion,Clay City and Bristol and i brought up having a bonus race anywhere else that you could count. This idea was not favored to much and did not get much discussion.

The other idea was have any entry fee say 50 dollars that would be paid to race in the national championship at the begining of the year . But also have a street national champion for the street racers for who gained the most points no matter how many races they attended. One could win the national championship in a street car if they enter into the national championship. This was just an idea to create more intrest for street car racers. I beleve you and your dad supported this idea but Seymore did not show much intrest in this idea. These are just some thoughts we discussed at the banquit . Thanks

OK.

The first idea is really no different than the divisional thing we ran last year. Probably the reason it did not get much talk was because no one really seem to be interested in running the divisional points this way much less the overall championship.
I like the idea of having 4-5 MAJOR races a year that determine the overall winner. I think it would make it easier for people to plan on attending and would actually increase the number of racers trying for a championship....but again that is just me. As it stands now we never have more than 2-3 racers that start the year out trying to win the overall points. To me that is not really a points race if only 2-3 people are trying for it.

I like the entry fee for a points number for the year. This would the organization some prize money to play around with.

I like the idea of a street series but it is going to take the guys from .org and .com to start showing up before we can justify running two classes. What is the point of running a footbrake class for Rodney and you? If only one or two footbrakers will make it to all of the races it will be just like the points series we have now? Is that promoting growth..?

Just food for thought...

Tom i would not run in the street class i would run for the national championship. So would Rodney.
The street class would be for people who could say just get to a couple of events and have a street car not a race car. I doint see any of the race car people wanting a street championship. Thanks

OK that makes sense. (I was confusing street car with footbrake.) That could be doable. What do you suggest the prize should be... There is nothing to say that you cant offer up a prize to the street car that accumaltes the most points this year.

Set some definition of street car and let Seymour put it in the newsletter.

THE FIRST RACE IS ONLY 24 DAYS AWAY. DO WE EXPECT AN ANSWER ABOUT ANY RULE CHANGES FAIRLY SOON SO RACERS CAN MAKE A DECISION ABOUT TRAVELING OR NOT TO A PARTICULAR RACE.

Are you planning on attending Vegas this year Norm? I think Seymour is trying to make it out.

WOULD LOVE TO GO BUT I DONT HAVE ENOUGH VACATION TIME AVAILABLE TO MAKE THE TRIP. HOPEFULLY IN TWO MORE YEARS I WILL BE ABLE TO SPEND MORE TIME ON THE ROAD AFTER I QUIT WORKING. HOPE I HAVE ENOUGH MONEY SAVED UP TO MAKE MOST OF THE RACES.
