Where is the vent door located at? Just had some A/C work done so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Factory installed air conditioning does not have the vent door on either side of the passenger compartment. I wish they would have at least installed one on the drivers side. :(

I posted this pic some time ago to show where the cowl drains are located on my '76 Duster and '74 Dart Sport. It took a long time to dig out all the leaves and twigs through these small holes. A compressed air line with a long-tipped nozzle blasting through the cowl grill helps. To access them properly, you'll have to remove the splash shields at the rear of the fender.

If these holes get clogged (and they will), the water level can build up above the lip of the fresh air inlet, just behind these holes in the pic.

HEY !!!! See that body seam where your fingers are resting on ???? There is several layers of sheetmetal fastened together there with some seam sealer smeared over the top. My 1976 Valiant leaked water from that seam down behind the kick panels and then under the carpet. I had to reseal that seam to eliminate my wet carpet.

Wouldn't you know it, the very last place it could possibly find its way in before rolling off the edge and dropping to the ground. That's about how my luck would go. Probably took you a while to figure that one out, huh?

I've have/have had several factory a/c "A-bodies" with the vent doors. I think perhaps they went away from them in later years (like maybe '73).

Very possibly. My '74 has no vents. It has these small round bump-outs that look like they could be where vents would go.
