I dunno... Sandy strikes me as, well, errr, "thrifty".

the rollering on paint over duct tape is one of the reasons I have come to this conclusion;

Why? You call the "five forward gears for $5" approach thrifty? :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thrifty on paint....but not brakes.....and HEY!...it cost me $200 for the 5 speed.

I dont think of myself as thrifty....more like CHEAP.

Post subject:  Update--T5 transmission.

Hi all,

Well, it has been awhile since I have updated this. Thanks to help from Menko and Lou, I now have what might be the only 5 speed 1965 Plymouth Barracuda in the world, much less the only slant six powered one.

I started with the modified bellhousing that Lou did as a group buy several years ago.

Next, I got a new clutch fromSPEC. They were really good to work with, and hopefully, a few other people will find some use out of our group buy as well.

I had a few adventures along the way, in proving to myself the driveshaft and the flywheel/starter were going to work, but we did a test fire in August of the whole thing. It took a few more tries to get everything right, but last week, I drove it to work a few times. The character of the car is completely different.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the project.

Next post, I will put in some pictures of the completed transmission tunnel, and other stuff.
