You will enjoy the looks.
...why would anyone enjoy looking silly? A clown car, perhaps?:P

Dennis, I've found it next to impossible to get modern high performance tires for small diameter wheels, unless I wanted to run R-compound tires on the street. Which I have done, but it's not a very practical choice. And the brakes I have rule out any wheel under 15". Even if I'd gone with 15s (I have 16" billet wheels instead), I'd still have something of a rubber-band-tires look that is very un-'60s. Performance has its trade-offs.

15's look good on an "a-body"... You might even fool me and sneak some 16's by me if executed correctly. Something built for the road course, like Lou's car is another matter. The wheels in that case are selected by function and what they look like is secondary. I'm just tired of seeing the big, silly wheels on everything everytime I crack open a car mag or turn on the TV. It reminds me of the van craze in the '70s or "Pro Street" in the eighties - a passing phase that we will all laugh at in the future.

Oh and if you have 5x4" boltpattern, you have to get custom wheels made in 17" to fit that. Nothing non-custom larger than 14x7 that I know of.
Define "custom". I guess these are all made-to-order, but the prices aren't that far out of line with other big wheels (in fact, the C-5's are quite reasonable):

Coy's wheels - C-5

Wheel Vintiques - Billet Rallyes
http://www.wheelvintiques.com/

Intro Wheel - (any style)

They ain't cheap, I'll admit, but you usually get what you pay for. Oh, and I've requested that they each send you a full-color, printed catalog, DW.

didn't know ther was a town named for me in carolina, eh? 8)
those are mustang bullitt wheels which are "lbp." i ditched the 5x4" pattern soon after i got the car in favour of factory lbp 10" discs/8.25 axle. the 13" discs (with their greater diameter and "ford" offset) that came later mandated these 17" wheels (had to use a 1' spacer out back for now, b-body axle will come later.) plus, i liked the old school mag look and performance of modern rubber. additional benefits are reasonable price (about $150/wheel) and light weight (@22 pounds.) compare that weight to a 15x7 cop wheel, 14" rallye or cragar s/s. less unsprung weight makes for improved ride/handling.

But if you go with spinners you need da bass da bump with. Then who cares about ride comfort (time to use a four letter word) so you might as well install  "POLY" bushings. Mwahahahahaha

Man, looks good John. I'm planning on putting 16's on my Duster after the brake upgrade.

What do you find wrong with this? The tires are the same diameters as the 15's I had on my 15" cop-car wheels, just a little less side-wall.
