It's smooth because you have all 6 cylinders going through on pipe and muffler. If you want the BRAPPP, just use duals with two mufflers. |

I agree. And if the length of the glasspack didn't matter, why would they make the longer ones? I hate "salesmen" who say such ignorant things, but that's par for the course. IMHO, you were right to insist on the longer glasspack. The longer the glasspack, the more sound absorption. Period. VM |

That was just a comment on what I thought I remembered them to sound like. Of course I may be remembering duals.Thanks. |

That's exactly what I told the mechanic. We were walking back from the shelves with the 24" and he was muttering that it didn't make any difference. I said, "There's a reason why they make longer ones." We just happened to be walking past another guy at the time. That guy said, "yeah they're quieter."IMHO, you were right to insist on the longer glasspack. The longer the glasspack, the more sound absorption. Period. VM Thanks |

Well, I had my exhaust done last week and I love it. 2.25" from the manifold all the way back, magnaflow muffler. It sounds great without being loud and obnoxious (I was more interested in flow than sound). It was done by Punk's Automotive in Vancouver, WA if anyone is interested. They did an awesome job and even though they weren't the cheapest quote I got, after it was all said and done I felt good about my choice. The level of service was outstanding, even shuttling me to and from my home in Justin (the tech's) personal car. Even though it's a camaro, blechhh, a 69 SS still makes a much nicer shuttle ride than the usual Astro van. No wire hangers, all welded brackets, a real clean job. They also said I could come back when I pick out a tip and they'll weld it on for free. I highly recommend this shop, although when it comes to services other than muffler/exhaust, Tim the manager was honest to say they mostly work on Chevy motors. Check em out if you live in Portland/Van area, tell em the guy with the lean green Swinger sent you. |

Yesterday, a friend and I built a 2 1/2" system with one oval muffler (10" x 6" rally muffler) in front of the rear axle. Does not sound to much, a little bit of rumble but not noisy. |

I ran (and i know it's overkill..but I like loud musclecars) full dual 3 inch exhaust with Flowmasters and tailpipes. It sounded awesome. Most people say that's way too much exhaust for the car but oh well, I liked it. I've heard another with full 2/12 inch duals with flowmasters and it sounded great. It gave it a real deep, rumbling tone, something glasspacks can't offer. Al. |

For what it's worth, I used a resonator from a 93-97 LH 3.5 instead of a muffler on my car. It has 2 1/2" pipe going in and dual 2" outlets, which I ran to both sides of the car for a dual exhaust appearance. It was free at the junkyard, and it sounds really good to me. It reminds me of a sewer-pipe equipped Cummins in tone, but it's much quieter. |

I bought one of those cheap glasspack cherry bombs for my Duster about 5 years ago. It sounded fine for the first few months. Now its just loud and obnoxious. Im getting it changed as soon as I get some extra money. |

I've ran my Magnaflow XL (or so my exhaust guy called it) since last winter and havn't noticed it getting any louder. It sounds much better than the glasspack I once had on...for only a few months. There is some noise in the interior at highway speeds, but no more so than the turbo muffler I had before and the sound insulation in the Satellite is good enough that its not obnoxious. Nice sound at idle, nearly silent inside around town. Expensive though, at around $80. Maybe because its stainless steel, who knows. |

so i feel like maybe being retarded and cutting off my muffler on my car tomorrow while i replace the u-joints.. i own a 95 jeep grand cherokee with the six and the muffler juss kinda fell off and i think it sounds kinda badass. i do own a honda but im not the typical ricer..i dislike loud raspy exhuast noise..so does any1 maybe have any sound bites of a muffler-less /6 perhaps? i am tolerable to noise. its more of a $#!+ n giggle thing..let me know whatcha think..no flamin either >=) |
