How fast are those 340 cars? I have never ridden in one or driven one.

I believe they were mid to high 14 sec. cars from the factory.
And not too hard to build into the 12's (same speed as slantzilla's slant :P
ride when it is not broken).
A little bit like a Mustang 5.0 5 speed, but classic mopar.

The Barracuda that this motor/trans came out of ran 13:40@102 on bias ply street tires through exhaust.

I'm thinkin' that in my Duster with a 150 shot it should easily run mid-11's @ 120 or so.

My friend's '71 Demon 340/4speed (very close to stock) would run in the 13s all day. It had 3.91 gears.

Spent some time over the weekend setting the red car up for the new driver for next year. Had to move the seat forward 4 inches so she can reach the pedals.

Got the new shifter installed. Went with a pistol grip Quarter Stick this time. The pattern even matches the valve body on this one.

Took the trans brake trans out too. Car will be a feetsbrake car again. The brake trans is going in for a winter checkup and will go in the Duster if it ever gets that far. 8)

Ron, this is a lady I have been seeing since summer. She was at St. Louis with me. She has never been down a track in her life. I am putting in a stock motor for her to get started with. I think she can get pretty close to the 15's that way without getting too scared or hurt.
