I won't be in Medford that weekend. However Fathers Day weekend I will be visiting Dad there. But I already made plans for the weekend before that. A murder mystery dinner train ride with some friends are planned for the night of the 2nd. We made those plans two months ago. I may go back to Redding in August.

:D PJ the female had a great time. She is >65 and this was her first time racing. Her husband Edd has a 9 second demon and she wanted to see what racing is all about so I let her drive my other car. I bought it from the niece of the 97 year old original owner. At dinner we tried to learn her about bracket racing now that she had done it and she got it. That was cool.

I on the other hand also had a great time even though I had the curse of the Terry's. In Vegas I red lit against Glen and in Redding I red lit against his son, BUT I ran a 16.06 w/ stock motor, 2 bbl w/ headers and a small shot of nitrous. That thing was awesome. I put in two fogger nozzles in the manifold and ran 19 nos and 21 fuel jets. I took a few passes down the entrance road and everyone said it sounded great, It felt like a Big block. Every slant needs spray. Plugs looked great and motor has 114,000 original miles and no smoke.

Thank you Wayne for organizing a great race. I will try to make Medford but no promises.

Post subject:  Redding Update:

The Killer Bees were at Redding in force...WE HAD 23 CARS.....YES..23 CARS...YES..23 CARS..which made it a full five round bracket. Many "newbies" and those of you who decided to stay home and 'bench race' missed one of the biggest slant6 turnouts ever.Weather was perfect...big pit area..separate slant6 lanes...big payouts . Doug was busy in the pits helping all with timing, teching. His son Allen, ran a perfect .000 and won the "side money" for his great reaction time. The pit area was "buzzing" with all the families and supporters of the Killer Bee cars that showed up in "force".
Dave Erickson had his 34' Coupe running faster and faster and set a new Inliner record which he also had previously held. Aric Erickson had the fastest times when he ran a 12:44 but the track was not holding his "Swingin' Six" . Andrew Howard drove all the way from Eureka with one great looking 63' two-door post car. With his new Killer Bee shirt on, Andrew just kept going faster and faster and ended up with a very good 17 sec. run and good reaction times.
Tristan and Charlier both from Sacto were also first timers and had both of their cars going faster each round. Gary Nelson , another first timer was there with camera in 'tow' and is making all the team members a video of all the races...We are trying to make Gary our 'TEAM PHOTOGRAPHER'..How about it Gary.
Adam and Lisa Betts showed up a little late in the show but had time to get some help from Doug setting lifters, ect. Wilson Rich , another first timer was there with his neat 66'Cuda and being from Red Bluff area, should see more action at later meets. Sergio Gonzales had two cars there and debuted his new 69 Dart along with his Duster. Ed and PJ Jesiolowski were there co-driver one of Mike Williams cars and PJ (Pat) took several people out on her way to the quarater finals.. PJ was a first time driver and this shows that you just need to show up and drive to have fun..Pat alson won $$$$.
Rick Valent drove all the way from Arizona with his early Valiant and his help as team Secretary was invaluable. Seymour had sent out the slant6 bracketing and Allen Dutra and Dave Erickson were "fine tuning" the bracketing as we had more cars there than the bracket was set up for. Ed' friend was there from Paradise and had fun driving his Duster all day.
Randy Judge was there with his Swinger running faster and faster. The new Dutra exhaust and four barrel had this great looking car running in the low 16's. Randy talked one of his fellow workers, to bring out his "Twister" and he too was given his team Killer Bee Tee shirt. Dan from Corning had his "supporters" with him and he ran a all time best and fastest for his van at Redding.
We missed Paul and CJ from the Eugene area but both promise to see us at the June2-3 meet at Medford. Thanks also Paul for your generous donation which will go back to the racers as prize money. Richard "The Sandbagger" was there though from Eugene and showed all that those Oregon boys know how to win...He won $425.00 in the final round when Oscar Dart started to "sing" back up thorugh the carb. Glen Terry and son had two cars there and Glenn again ended up taking some $$ home. I heard Glen is getting 'cross eyed' and was watching the car next to him in the semi-finals rather than his own lights...
Thanks to all the 'Killer Bees' that showed up and all the "newbies" that are now team members. Seymour will have a big writeup in the next issue of his newsletter. If you haven't subscribed yet, send $15.00 to the Slant Six Racing Association to keep informed . Wayne from Chico

Great Race at Redding! Thanks again Wayne!!

Our 66 Dart station wagon "tow car" is back together and better then ever.
The car is over 2 seconds faster, Allen pulled a 18.06 out of the car in a late afternoon test & tune run. Better still, the car pulls the interstate hills much better, the main change... we stuck one of those special dual pattern Erson cams into the engine while we were fixing the blown head gasket.

I have photos I will try to up-load tonight, again...
West Coast SL6 racing is 'on the move' in 2007 so now is the time to just DO IT !!
Check the event schedule and get out to one of our 3 remaining West Coast races.

Post subject:  May 5th Event

I just installed a new photo editing program on my PC. If I can downsize them, I will see about posting some of the pictures. As it sits right now, my video starts with a burnout, and then shows a lot of my still photos to some music. Now I start editing the video. I will start with the time trials, then move onto the eliminations. And then show the final race. It will take me the rest of the week, at a minimum to do that editing. As for being the official photographer, I can't make each meet. And with any luck, I will have my Dart out there next year.

These races were a blast. I met a mess of great folks and had a great time. I will try to recruit some more slanters for next time. I may also have two cars to bring if my wife can find the time.
Thanks to Wayne and everybody involved in this fun outing. I know you all put alot of time into this.

Post subject:  MAY 5th Event

I just put a couple hours into the video editing. So then looked at my photo editing program. It was a breeze to downsize the pictures. But then I read I have to have my own webspace to put the pictures on this site. So that is another chore I have to take care of I guess. That will be new ground for me. It may take awhile before I get them out there.
