My son and I were returning home on a road trip, when we pulled into a roadside eating establishment. We sat at the counter between two pairs of individuals engaged in rather annimated conversations : Two Canadian truckers wondering if their friend had defended his bull riding championship and a pair of Texans digging through a newspaper for a sports section to check the hockey playoffs. Eh, take off ya'll !!!

What day is the slant points race? I'm guessing it is on Saturday? When are time trials, and when does racing start? Thanks, Brian |

The Slant race is on Saturday. Time trial (1) is usually around 10 am. Race is whenever they need space filler, usually 5 or 6 in the afternoon.
Thanks, Brian |

Some times we got 2, but we are the redheaded step-children there because we don't have a class sponsor. Brian I arranged for a sponsor a couple years and they jerked us off anyway. I was there a few times when first round wasn't until 8PM. |

The Slant cars usually pit together not too far from that tower in the middle of the pits. I believe they do let people in on Friday. |

They do let people in on Friday, and swap meet area is generally opened on Friday, lots of racers show up Friday, some mostly distance traveling show cars show up Friday. Saturday is of course the big long day of racing and sweating. Sunday lots of racing early, show cars / prices are given out around 2:00, including some door prizes that include the racer entries (was a viper motor two years ago), last year I believe you didnt have to be present to win the big door prize. Now, there is a lot of new construction up 55/70 at the Collinsville exit (~5 miles from the track) with several restaurants/ Hotels and of course the requisite White Castle. For anyone who needs additional information on Illinois side activities let me know, I lived 15 miles from the track for a couple of years and still live within 25 miles from there now. Sandy, even a Canuck like you should realize that St Lou is Anheiser/Busch country. We are the home of budweiser the king of watery beer. We don't believe in communism, just Unions. Oh, and y'all hafta go to South St Louis county to heah folks talk like that, but you say the Miller word around heah you best be talkin bout a welder. Oh, and I will see y'all on Saturday sometime. Unless of course you are coming over to the house early to pick up some motors and transmissions. |

We should be arriving about 5 pm friday last time we stayed off 64 that was about 8 miles from the track. But if something is closer on 55 we could stay there. Why doint you pick a place and we will follow and see if we can book it. Also what exit do you take to get to the track 2 or 3 or 4. seems like 4a or 4b was the exit. I remeber it was well marked. Thanks Ron Parker Im Thinking About St Louie |

Ron are yall coming to the track first or to the hotel? Cinda and I will already be there at the track. If there is any shade we will grab it as we will most likely tent camp at the track. Can we rope off an area for the group? Any idea how many /6 ers will be there? Lots of questions Thanks Frank |
