The longer length that you can go and still fit everything in, the more torque you will have at low rpms. Most folks up here that run these components "Y" them together too soon and the low end suffers.

my 2 cents. . . i went with glass paks. i got a 40" unit hanging in front of the rear axle and a 12" unit beside the gas tank. it sounds only slitely louder than a stock muff, yet i have a staight pipe all the way out. since i have a long body van, i have lotsa room under there. i'd suggest the longest pak for the space u have to work with and a resonator out back b4 the end of the tail pipe. mine is awesome! D~~~! |

Brennan, If your exhaust shop can't do a 3" tail pipe or a nice 2.5" one then order it from TTi. They sell individual components and they do fit. |

I have 2 mufflers that look like glass packs from the outside. They are baffled like turbo mufflers inside. Superior brand mufflers from a local shop. |

I have all of the components for the exhaust system. I had the headers coated as just eye balling them and the car is looks as though they will fit. The collectors are 2" and will be expanded to 2.25 at the shop. The J-pipe is just in case the 50 series muffler is a little long and we need a tight turn up and out of the muffler. Ofcourse the pipe would be cut somewhere in the 180* turn for proper fitment. http://tinyurl.com/2n7qbm (All exhaust stuff) http://tinyurl.com/3dctp9 (closeup of the coated headers) Its my understanding that the flowmaster Y-pipe is going in 2"-6" behind the trans crossmember. I want to get this right, so where do I measure from. I would guess the the Y-pipe's center would be measured from the point that the two 2.25" pipes meet in the Y-pipe and the trans crossmember's center line. Correct? Can someone be more specific in regards to 2"-6" or is this not that important? |

Measure as you described, Bren, and use 4". It is not that critical, but best not to be off by 6"... Lou |

Looks good dude. Dont get all excited when you first put it all back together, I feel sure some tuning will be needed. It may not even want to idle from needing more fuel. Just wanding about one of the pics in that spread. Is down in the intake black with soot? It might just be the pic but it looks like its black down in the plenium. If it is black, does the carb show signs of this in the primary bores? Jess |

The exhaust system is done. Didn't have time to run it much but its pretty loud outside the car. Its surprisingly quiet inside though.  The idle is much more lopy. that does look really clean... one Q though why is that "spring" attatched to the brake holding that cable? i assume battery cable based on the color of the cable's. |
