One of our Cortez group members posted a picture of a dual carbs set-up with this manifold. Here's what it looked like:

I think your idea would work better though.

Wow... there is SSDan's idea in action, I wonder how that set-up worked?

I am also a bit worried about fuel distribution with the "roll your own" set-up I have going, need to do whatever we can to get the mixture from the second plenum to spred-out when it gets into the actual manifold.
If the original carb is already flowing some CFM, then that may help 'deflect' some of the incoming mixture from the side tubes.

Well, I put this project down for the moment... we need to get ready to race this weekend... and I need to think about this lay-out a little more.
I can still revise the design and move things around... that is... until I start welding.

Remember the bump in the floor of the original hyper-pak intake that Mopar Performance recommended? How about one of those?

Unfortunately, I don't think he ever got it going. Never gave any more info other than posting the picture IIRC.

Hi,
I like this idea. I have an aluminum one barrel intake and just picked up a Zenith downdraft one barrel from a Clark forklift that I want to use in addition to the primary Holley 1920 carb. This idea is reminiscent of the 5th injector that some add to the FWD Turbo Dodges when the boost has been cranked up to the limits of the stock injectors...the 5th injector helps you sneak up on extra Horsepower without going lean.
I just need to p/u some 1/4" aluminum plate to mod the intake and make a carb pad for the Zenith and fab linkage to wake it up at 3/4 throttle of the primary carb. Any thoughts on the Zenith Carburetor? The other thing is the idle circuit of the second carb...I guess it would not be needed, right? nico
