Time flys but I did manage to get my LV photos up-loaded. My daughter sent me this photo... she does wonders with her cell phone camera.   We made it to Vegas with the only problem being... the hot anti-freeze shower I took, after pulling over on the Baker grade, to check why the Dart wagon was running hot... it needed water. Both Allen and I said "oh crap" when we pulled into the track and saw that national champ. Glen T. had made the event.  Rick V. had a big pit spot reserved in our usual place... Thanks Rick!  I think this is the most early cars we ever had at one race, I counted 5  I did not recognize Andrew's (Kidd) car, now painted and sporting a new K1 engine.  Allen had a chance to run against him.  The Howards brough a big group with them this year, 3 cars total. They had a lot of fun, on and off the track. Here is Ronda's car waiting for a pass.  Jessica's 63 next to Pat and Ed's car.  It was good to see David F. again with his 63 Dart GT. We were wondering if he would join us again after doing an oiling system "bye-pass operation" on his car at last year's LV race.  Moto Guzzi Mark was there with his madmax/6 Valiant. He rebuilt the engine over the Winter and ran a 13.95 on the first pass! If he would stop taking advice from Glen, he could really go fast!   I had to run Mark just to get his feet back on the ground.  Truthfully, the whole SL6 group is like an extended family.  My Lancer continues to run well with the "Raquel" engine. We used N2O on ever run and ran a best time of 12.73 at 104.75 mph. The track photographer cought this shot:  I got paired-up with Wicked Six in the second round.  He was all business and "on his game".  He kill me on the tree and went on to the next round.  Rick V. went a few rounds in his 62 Valiant, pretty good seing that it is a 4-speed car.  Ricks luck came to and end when he had to race Triston.  More runs as we worked out the ladder, Randy J. won 1 round but Glen took care of him in the 2nd.  A ladies race with Jessica and Pat J. paired-up.  And it all came down to Kidd and Wicked Six in the final.  Andrew catches him but breaks-out so the winner is... Triston!  He gets a nice plaque and a big check for all his work.   And there are some "side stories" I will save for later... DD |

The 'Top of the World' restaurant up there is definitely the best view of Vegas you can get. Been there twice and will go again next time I get out there. My daughter sent me this photo... she does wonders with her cell phone camera. DD Thanks for all the pics Doug.

I guess I should give a qiuck run -down on my runs... 1st round went againt Allen....I won 2ndround I got a second round bye run due to the best reaction time.025 light! 3rd round I went againt the Champ-Glenn Terry....I won Final round-raced Tristan, and well.....lost!!! Andrew/Kidd |
