I am sure it would hurt flow. I had a friend that did the screens over intake ports on a SB Mopar. I forget his results........

I just thought people might want to read the evaluation. I have read through dozens of them and it is a pretty interesting mix (to me at least).

I don't want to hijack the thread; I just thought since someone took the time to post multiple pics people might also want to read a contemporary review.
Edit: Just to show what you can find by reading through them: http://www.epa.gov/otaq/consumer/devices/pb83211243.pdf See note at bottom of page 10. For a 3% reduction in road load you gain about 1% in fuel economy for the tests used.
Done. See HERE

Well, due to time contraints, i am just going to throw this head onto the motor and run it with the bigger cam. I did some measuring, and I know that this head has not been milled and the ombustion chamber has not been relieved. As time permits, I will measure and have built a head with stock valves which will be more suited for a street driven van.

The motor will still be getting a "new" cam reground to one of the Erson profiles, so that should be a big step up. However, I measured and determined that the piston stop .18 down the piston bore and the cylinders were machined .030 oversize. THis means that lots of thickness will need to be removed from the head to get compression up where it should be. I can't wait for my syringe to arrive so I can start cc-ing some heads. :x

You may have read my thread on CCing my cylinder head. I found a 100 ml plastic burette for about $20.00 plus shippping. For practical purposes, ml and CC are interchangeable. It gives fast, accurate results and allowed me to get my chamber size right where I wanted it. I can't believe I ever considered building an engine without it.

Absolutely a must! I CC'd the head for Linda's Dart that came off the Hooptie. Before machine work it measured ~53cc's. After the Valve job it came out around 61cc. They either got seriously carried away, or things were in really bad shape. The head is going back in for new valves, and seats. I need to get the static back up.
Linda's engine is taking a lot longer than I expected! I'll take the head down tomorrow and start plans to get it straightened out.

If you still don't have it by the time you head down to Wildcat, I'll bring a 60cc one from my tool box for you. If they back order it, just cancel. I can pick these up at the Farm store near my place for something like a couple of bucks.

I got a 100 ml plastic burette for about $20.00. I like a burette better because it's easier to control.
