We made these collectors today for testing. This also allows me to make the collector tube any size you might want! :) I will make the standard 3" for stock. :D We will also offer these with collector size of 2"- 2 1/4"- 2 1/2" bolt on or slip on flange. How long do you think the collector should be? :? The hookers we have measure 11" from primary pipe entrance to collector, this seems a little long to me. What do yall think :?: Thanks Don.

The MOPAR Direct Connection SL6 racing book says 6" for the transition with a 2.5" diameter by 12" collector.

You pretty much have it all covered though.

Thanks Ted, can we get someone to second the motion!! What about the 3" does this need to be shorter or longer or should they just come with that size? We are going to stock 3 sets at all time, most likely 2 sets 3" and 1 set 2 1/2 " or the other way depending on the response for wants.

Oh yes the A/C. We just pulled the stock A/C stuff out of another car and still have it here. I will see if it will work. or we need to move them slightly.
Thanks Dartman that is why I am asking for details . We want to make the best product we can for all slanters and not just say they will fit, they actually fit with no denting or dinging your new set of headers. Have a good day all talk to you soon Don.

How expensive/difficult would it be to equip the headers with ball/socket flanges? I hate 3-bolt header flanges, they are so lo-tech and ugly!

Just FYI this is what I'm talking about

Wow what a good  I do have the capabilities to do that the dies came with my equipment. Going to use this on my testing sets because of the removal and replacement of many different styles we will make. This is alot faster than collector bolts and we don't have any gasket on this style. This alone will save money on testing thanks very much Don.

No problem. I've always said the best Ideas are the ones that have faced alot of constructive criticism. :D

:D We have received flanges and collector flanges to finish the build for 2 1/2" & 3" collectors. The next sets I will make, 1 of them we are bringing to Charlie's. The reason for this is to see if they will clear early style a body with a 170 in it and power steering box. :? I have asked all about preference size of collector, these will be 3". You can reduce them from that point. One question for all. Would you rather see the rear 1/2 of the header look like this style of bend :?:

Or bent like the new sets bend? Thanks for any input Don.

Don,

Both of those look good. I would bring both along to Charlie's and get his opinion on fitment and design. Make sure you test fit with engine in a car too.

Best wishes,

Lou

The game plan is to use my 65 Valiant (no motor at this time) and swap out the manual box for the power steering box. Then use an empty (less weight)170 and 225 block head and trans case, in the car to check fit. We will also check to see if my A/C mount will work with Don's pipes.

:) Thanks for your input 1980, the connection will be a little lower than that first pics. But the bends will be close them. The reason is the drop that is necessary for the 170 motor the collector would hit the block on that set Don.

Ok thanks Lou. I'll bring both rear designs with. The set that was in the car for the pics and the new set with merge collectors 3". If I was to make this design with 2 1/2" collector it would only have more room yet!! Have a good day Don.
