Stock BBS filter for a 64 is (Wix 42011)

8" OD
6.5" ID
3" tall.
Ed beat me to it, but I have a WIX filter with that number in my garage.

Thanks to Don, I have a proper air cleaner assembly on it's way. The right one with the snorkel and breather tube. I know the one I have is definitely not the right one, so I'm anxious to give this motor a well deserved "wake up" of fresh air.

I'm starting to understand that a 63 Fury didn't have a 225 option from the factory? Everything is listed as V8's.
On Fury's, the 225 was standard only on the 4-door post sedans, so they're pretty rare.
All other Fury body styles had a V8 as standard equipment.

Check out the 63 Plymouth Dealership Data Book. Lots of cool info on all the models. 8)

Stiff accelerator pedal too...would WD40 be a good idea to make it a little easier to push? I feel like I have to put a lot of force on the pedal to get it to move....might just be the fact that I'm not used to driving an older car :D
PB Blaster would work better than WD40. Try it on all the pivot and hinge points from the pedal to the carb.

Good to know, and being that I have a 4-door I guess it's not that unusual that I have a 225....other than the fact that the hood ornament says 383, so who knows.

I will give the PB Blaster a shot too, sounds like a decent idea...could just be me not used to mechanical gas pedals, everything is too "electronic" these days.

Finally got the right air cleaner stripped and painted, just have to wait for the paint to cure before I put it on, I'll snap a few pics once it's installed.

Got the "super six" decal in the mail today so here are a few pics of the air cleaner....a pretty big difference from how it was a few days ago.

The part shown above is what I installed tonight with a new Fram filter (CA160), no fitment issues and just enough room under the hood without hitting/rubbing.

The "stock" air cleaner that was on it when I got the car was too small and didn't breath at all, this newer air cleaner definitely woke this engine up drastically, much more responsive.

Thanks Wes, now I get to start on the exterior aluminum/chrome

Also need to change the oil and coolant in this thing, then I'll be good for a while...not knowing the last time either were changed bugs me a bit.
