Well my buddy bailed... So i dove in I removed the unneeded equipment but...as I was adjusting the choke I seemed to have snapped the rod because it was so mangled it simply broke... :x So I have been looking at just buying a rebuilt one I found some on ebay for around 125 bucks. The computer does not hold a vacuum, so if i can get around it now I might as well.

LIke others said about buying rebuilt carb, it is not good job. Have others advise you where to get good one.

Hang on, you don;t ned a whole new carburetor. You should be able to purchase just the vacuum choke pulloff diaphragm new. www.Rockauto.com has them from $5 to $16 new (AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1C1172 for $5, STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # CPA421 for $8 or $16). Rockauto also has the choke piece that mounts in the exhaust manifold for $30. They call it the "carburetor choke thermostat" (AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 2C1113).

Hit the junkyards and find any 80s era truck, van, or car that has the lean burn computer and a good vacuum transducer and get the computer. You can open up the housing, snip two wires, and swap the vacuum transducer to your computer. You will need to solder two wires, but that is really easy. Heck, I'll bet someone on this board has a couple old lean burn computers collecting dust in their garage and will give them to you for the cost of shipping.

I can't say. If you can't get the stock one, I would recommend one of the kits referenced in this thread.

Keep plugging away, you'll fix it in the end.
