Okay,... You caught me! Lou The 7.18 is the "altitude corrected" E.T. I checked the rules and we can't use those. See Y'all at Clay City! I'll be bringing the Duster. I made a promise after all... |

Ok, now you got to fess up and tell the whole truth. We are family here ya know. If you have a Challenger that is ready then you can run that. No need to be killin yourself to get the Duster done. But, you could get it done and let Wayne drive it. Something smells a little Fishy!! Rick |

Aw,... I'm just funnin' is all... Lou I wudn't tryin' to punish nobody... I like your little jabs Lou. They help keep me honest! Current status is that the Challenger is up on stands next to the Duster with most of the engine externals (and now the tranny cooler Once Clay City is done I'll get to work on removing the engine to see what the damage is. Norm is fairly certain that it has spun a main bearing because it slowed down by a full second. No other obvious damage as he parked it and started the teardown after that one pass. He did find some very small metal particles in the oil that could support the spun bearing theory. Winter plans are to teardown the Challenger engine and see what's what. Then pull the new "Gary Bruner" engine out of the Duster and mix and match some parts so that the best of everything (head, roller rockers, block, tranny, Flyin' Toilet, etc.) goes into the Challenger. The "second best" parts will go together and into the Duster. Both engines have some great stuff in them! (I still have that mid-range GodsRods Duster I engine/tranny that need a good home... I still want a "driver"... |

I do too Mark... But if I actually got one put together enough to make a pass I wouldn't be a "Smoke Blowin' Poser"! Seriously though, I do want to get this done. |

I'm gettin' all geared up fer some serious "Bench Racin'" at the banquet this weekend! I'm gonna pick up so many speed secrets for the Challenger that it'll surely run in the 9's right off the trailer! Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to a great weekend with the "Slanted Family" and trust that I will pick up a few good pointers. (I actually do have a list of questions and ideas to run by some folks) |

I got a couple "Racin' Secrets" and we tossed around a few ideas at the banquet. As soon as I have the Duster up & running and out to a few test & tunes I'll be putting a little effort into getting the Challenger ready. Not sure how soon it will be together or how long it will take me to figure out how to drive it, but I'd really like to compete for some records. Now that Seymour is handing the keys to his record setting blue Valiant over to Ryan Covalt, maybe I should change the title of this thread to, "Look out Ryan! Here I come... |
