Doomed? Nah. Someday somebody might actually follow through with a limited production run, or just produce a few really remarkable parts. CJ |

Dan. I'm surprised at you! You missed one "again" in your list.

A very complex to build product with a very limited demand = No aluminum head in this lifetime. |

as I was thinking that beer also comes in aluminum cans,,so,, I would like to have the aluminum head be designed to also function as a beer keg. maybe in the water jacket,, would be dual purpose,, |

you know 100% duplicated aluminum head looks to fail. I don't see cast iron exhaust/aluminum stock intake working in the design. Aluminum is prone to stud/bolt failure/vibration/weight/time . it would look/be kool but stock intake and exhaust with the stock mounting would be a design flaw and fail over time, probally a short time. I have had to repair many old school harley trans cases (4 speed) /heads (panhead/shovlehead) from their stud/bolt failure...they do work good, but modern Harleys have addressed their weak points |

Yes there are aluminum (?) heads in existance. The numbers are questionable however. These heads were developed (or perhaps reverse engineered) by German scientists liberated from Nazi hands. The widow of a Groom Lake maintenance worker remembers her husband talking of crate upon crate of freshly machined cylinder heads - undeniably Chrysler Slant Six components. The heads had no recognizable markings but instead were covered with symbols not unlike Egyptian hieroglyphics. The only reason he knew of the exsistance of these heads was a crate was accidentally broken, while off loading a truck which had come from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. As soon as the crate was damaged all personel were removed from the area and reassigned to another complex. Some of these German scientists had been rumored to have retired in Argentina. My research continues......... Did someone mention BEER? Perhaps a good German beverage. |
