Jared,
Thanks, bro. I wanted to see if I could pull it off and keep the engine cool enough. Talk about some wide open spaces in my engine bay now.. lol The research to see if the water pump could deal/be sufficient with all that piping and head about drove me crazy! I'm overdriving the pump at least 10-15% and all my plumbing is aluminum pipe and aluminum underbody panels so I'm hoping it's dissapating heat along the way to the trunk... I posted somewhere around here about some aero stuff awhile back when I was driving the Dart. Didn't go as far as driving around with yarn tufts but amused myself by watching a few Youtube videos of other peoples "efforts". Dart = Brick!

Ted,
I had HEI on it but fried the module in a week (even with a huge XBOX 360 heat sink). Don't know what I did, but it died/no spark! Put a Mallory 6AL & Mallory promaster coil on it and get a good spark (looks same as HEI spark did). Now I need a stupid tach adapter.. boooo!

From what I've read and experienced, it's easier to get good mileage with a 2bbl but you can go slightly higher with a 1bbl.

This is just kind of a made up scenerio, but say you survey 100 people and after averaging the fuel economy they all get, you get an average of 20mpg for the 1bbl guys and 20mpg for the 2bbl guys. Most guys with the 2bbl will be getting 19-21mpg while guys with the 1bbl will be more like 17-23mpg, averaging out to 20 in the end. Some guys will be higher and other guys will struggle to get their mileage out of the teens.

It just seems like there is a wider range of fuel mileage with a 1bbl and the carb really has to be running well. You can get one that looks clean, runs perfect and gives you no problems, but it'll never get better than 19mpg no matter what you do with it. Then you can slap on a carb with a rougher idle and slight vacuum leak and pull low 20's.

The good thing about the 2bbl is its more consistant. You don't eat as much fuel getting up to speed and the economy is very comparable on the highway. A stock 1bbl is a dog around town while a stock 2bbl uses a lot less pedal from stop light to stop light and only gives up a little bit of economy when cruising at 65. After changing to a super six, I'll never go back to a 1bbl unless I get a Feather Duster or Dart Lite.
