It is not a 2681. If there is no metal tag on the carb? You can't find the number.
I do believe this was established when I identified this number as a Carter BBD. Basically at the beginning of this thread.

The six got a 2bbl in 1976 to at least '78. Maybe all the way to 1980. Match the gaskets.
Someone correct my if I am wrong on the years.
That would be 2bbl start in '78
So the Feather Dusters made before 78 didn't have a 2bbl? I'll check that in the rebuild kit info.

That number on the fuel bowl is not a model number.

When I get home later I can get a kit number for a rebuild kit for the carb.

BTW if you want to throw away the carb? Let's discuss shipping to Tennessee!

From my experience there is 3 major problems with the BBD's. The tops and bowls warp. I flatten them on a belt sander.

The throttle shafts become a vacuum leak. This will cause a lean condition, and idling problems. Then they need to have bronze or teflon bushings installed.

The idle set screws will back out when they are older and the threads in the linkage get sloppy. I little RTV will hold them in place. I have had the screws fall out going down the road.
I will see to that when I get the repair kit but thanks for the reply :P

go to www.rockauto.com look for Plymouth. Then select fuel/air. 3.7L 2bbl Carter the Rock Auto part is #1586

I am not going home tonight. I have Hygrade or Walker kits in my shop. I can get their part numbers.

Another link look for #4072 225 export 2bbl kit in the Dodge section http://www.carburetor-parts.com/Articles.asp?ID=302

You tube has a video on BBD's!

Here you go!

http://www.carburetor-parts.com/Carter_ ... p/4072.htm

This kit seems to fit all 1 1/4" BBD's! They have been around a long-long time!

Also the carb to manifold gasket not in the kit is slant six specific! There is a difference! 8)

RockAuto looks like they ship to denmark and they have a lot of parts but the other one only ships in the U.S.

Just for the record, I loved the BBD when I had one on my car. I rebuilt it several times over the years, but it never gave problems. If you have the model with the removable inspection plate over the step up, or enrichment rods, there is very nice tunability for the enrichment circuit. Not all BBDs have this.

I tried about every carb model that would adapt to the slant, and the BBD ended up being the best fit for the operating range and fueling needs of a stock slant. It is an excellent compromise of power and economy.

Welcome to the forum! You will see other members from Europe posting here. On of our recent additions is JKKO http://slantsix.org/forum/profile.php?m ... file&u=605 from Finland. You will see him under the EFI section of the forum.

Sam

Strange, because, well they did not. Hey, Dan, can confirm this?

So your telling me that the Scamp, Valiant, Dart, and Duster had a 2bbl option starting in '76 during the same year that each of those four models ended? Not to mention that none of the models, even during late year had a 2bbl option.
If you have this "listing" then please cite your source.

Have you watched the link Chrysler video on slant BBD's? You would have remembered the cute blonde.
Cheesey but informative.
Look at the top of the engine section.

Please link. A advertisement does not constitute reality. Let's stop playing around. Merely referencing a "factual" video is not citing a factual source.

There used to be a link sticky at the top of the engine forum for the Chrysler training video for Chrysler techs. What happened to it? I have no clue.

Yes, but this is not a link reference to Chrysler having a 2bbl option in 1976 (as rug_trucker claims) when in reality such option is not as he claims.

I cannot vouch for the awesomeness of Webers, but I can vouch for the fact that BBD throttle shafts get sloppy. That said, as opposed to throwing the baby out with the bath water, I have successfully re-bushed those BBD throttle shafts. There's a pre-fab kit to do it right on E-bay, too.
