Well I stopped by the car and I checked the engine bay, other than a saturated air filter it looks all the same, so I'm hoping it will run when I get the good to go on it. I'll get some pictures up of it later. |

Ouch. Check that passenger side door jamb VERY carefully. Years ago I bought a 66 Barracuda from a junkyard that looked like it had a fairly straight body. Several years and countless hours of grinding away Bondo later, I discovered that the whole driver's side rear 1/4 had been BRAZED on after the car was in a serious T-bone accident. Upon close examination I determined that the driver's side door jamb had been pushed in about 1-2 inches from where it should be. The door still closed OK, but I doubt the door would seal right anymore. Be very careful in checking the alignment of all the body panels now. |

I already have plans to fix the door jamb, then replace the panels. And sandy, I like how it looked too much before to just drive some beat up old car, so I'm going to fix it right. EDIT: besides, the passenger door is jammed shut, that quarter being pushed in didn't get that bad until they rolled the car back over. So the car has to be at least fixed to a point, so I'm just going to fix the entire thing. |

So here is my step dad's idea to fix the passenger quarter to the point its manageable and I can weld a new quarter on and it will all line up well. A 2x6 wood plank that goes from the wheel arch to the passenger door, "I" hooks every so often down the length of the board, then screw the board to the quarter and work the damage out by attaching a come along to each hook until it is straight enough and then opening up the passenger door and finishing up the job, making sure that the door jamb is where its supposed to be. And if this doesn't get it where we want it, we always have Option B: 7.3 Diesel torque monster truck pulling on the jamb area enough to get it straight. Also I think I might put the money down to get a new jamb depending on the damage, they reproduce them to the tune of two Benjamin bills, which isn't too bad to ensure good passenger door function. As for the roof right now, until I get a new one welded on, it might get the toilet plunger method and man power pushing up from inside to get it manageable. The drive fender and I are going to have some quality time with a body hammer and dollies, that is if I can find my hammers and dollies, they were in the car when it went over There is no getting around a new bumper, front panel and passenger door they are toast. The engine bay needs the positive cable fixed, oil levels checked, a new air filter and probably a plug cleaning. The interior is a mess, I need to attach the fire extinguisher to the tranny hump this time, I need to find all my CD's again, they are scattered across the car, luckily I cleaned the car out an hour before the crash. More info to follow, Seth |

Its alright, he is the whole reason I ended up with my dart, my step dad saw his car and knew I couldn't just have some little ricer that would crumple like a beer can if it crashed, and he knows these mopars inside and out so he knows how safe they are. And luckily he is a very good body guy so its going to be back on the road regardless of how difficult the repairs are. I'm just glad the car isn't worse than it is, I'll hopefully be bringing it home soon, I think today I might get a new air filter, unbend the tranny lines, fix the battery cable, make sure no tires rub on the fenders, and change the bent wheel and make sure it runs. |

Well things aren't looking too good for the car, the body guy pointed out how the entire body rolls from one corner to the other like a corkscrew, so I'm starting to window shop for a new A body and I'll take my stuff that's good out of my car and put it in this car, then I'll part it out as best I can and scrap it. Not the way I wanted it to end, but s**t happens, right? I'm looking at one of the members 70 dart hopefully soon. I'm still just thankful I wasn't hurt in this. |

Well, in a stroke of luck, my step dad has been kind enough to offer buy the car off of me to fix at a later time, if we do that I get to take my bucket seats, carpet, grant steering wheel, battery, stereo, 2.25" exhaust, and autometer gauges out, along with anything else I neglect to get that is mine. |

Well an update on the car: I pulled pretty much every panel off the car, along with stripping the interior down, I have to go back to the body yard to pull the front end out from it. The good quarter is either going to aggressive ted if he still wants it, or its possibly going to be donated to the '70 which is crunched in pretty good on the back and around the trunk lid. After crawling around down there I found that a lot of the rear frame on the driver side was pulled away from the floor pan, sorry, no carnage pictures of that ![]() ![]()

Make it a ChumpCar. It's even about the right color to be a team car to Village Thunder Racing's THUNDERBEAST !!! <a href="http://s707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/neilskiw/?action=view¤t=thunderbeast.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/neilskiw/thunderbeast.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> |
