The lower mount is about 6" further back, so it will take some fab work. Still looks much easier than the A500.

Sooo ... how does one hook the 200R4 up to an in-dash pushbutton shifter?

I would like to keep some momentum on this group buy idea. If you have not already, please post here if you want to join this group buy. I'll call Wilcap after a few days and see what kind of price we can get.

Thanks again,

Lou

PS: I would try to hook to the PB shifter (cable), but then I'd only be able to select 3 gears. Modifying the shifter for 4 would be a lot tougher.

It's not a game-stopper, but I do like the in-dash shifter. I'll have to investigate what 200R4's require for shifting.

It is a lever type shift mechanism, and has a kickdown lever too, like a 66-up 904. Not sure of lever location or length, etc. I'm sure you could choose to shift 2-3-4 and not allow holding in 1st if you wanted to use the PB shifter. The park lever cable would not be used. Would take a little linkage engineering, but doesn't look too bad. I know, I love the PB design, and wonder why every automatic car doesn't have this simple, lightweight, compact shifter! Answer: holding a big penis (floor shifter) in your hand is more fun for the masses...

Here is a trans reubuilder recommended by the high HP Turbo Buick guys:

Another nice thing about this swap is you use the GM torque converter, which has many more options available than Mopar converters (esp lockup).

Not quite. More like subtract 600-1000 RPM from a V8 rating. That is just a ballpark.

I'm not 100% sure but I may be interested in this setup for the Duster i'm building for Whitney. I would really like to have an OD transmission for her car and this looks like a good option. I didnt notice this thread before so I will do some more research quickly and maybe get on the list.

Guys,

I spoke with Larry at Wilcap and he says it is no problem to make them. If we can get 10 or more together, he can drop the price by 15-20%, so figure about $550 + shipping.

So, we need 1-2 more to get us there. Talk to your friends and let's see if we can get an order of 10 together! I need confirmation from Ryan and 805moparkid...

Thanks, Lou

Updated list for a Wilcap /6-Chevy trans adapter kit:
--------------------
1) Lou Madsen
2) Joshua Skinner
3) 65 Dartman
4) Rob Simmons
5) akbmotorsports
6) Brucehockensmith
7) Ryan Covalt??
8 ) 805moparkid??
9) Brooks
