Rodney (W) vs. Brian
Dan vs. Ron (W)

Rodney and Brian both ran their same 60ft time but after that both of them slowed way down. Rodney ended up just racing Brian, lifting when he'd pull away getting back on it if Brian started to pull away. Now the question is what should we dial in???

Ron was running fast and lifted at the end,Dan broke out at the end by .15

UP NEXT a Nail Bitter Rodney Vs. Ron

No one will be lifting on this race... They'll both be all the way in all the way down. Will Rodney be able to bet Ron or will history repeat itself????

History Repeated itself. Ron broke out with a 13.145 on a 13.16 dial in, BUT Rodney Fouled first with a -.051 light. Ron improves his points by 45 points moving him up against Andrew's led. Might we see, the traveling trophy back on the East Coast??? Rodney only improved by 15 points, with the 35 points from today, replacing his 20 points from the 1st Clay City race.

Wow, fantastic play-by-play action! Thanks Alanna and all the racers. I was seriously hoping that the Hargis' could make it to this race.

Congrats to Ron on the win and Rodney on the gained points. Can't wait for the final race of the season report!

Lou

13 cars today and 2 of the very best faced off in the finals. Congrats to Ron for the win. His championship hopes are still alive.

I faced Rodney in the first round and performed another one of my red light tricks. I am very good at them! But I knew that I would have to be on the light because Rodney unloaded from the truck and cut a .002 light first thing! Maybe in 10 years I can do that.

We should have 12 racers tomorrow. Will went home with transmission issues and local Kevin Bradford will not be returning. Brian Droschak blew a trailer tire on the way and did not get here today. He will be here Sunday.

We will keep you posted Sunday!

Rick

Great report Mrs. Lancer! How fast has Brian's car gotten that he can 60' with Rodney?

Correct, Brian's Duster is now going mid 15's and looking terrific doing it. Congrats to Ron, but kudos to Rodney who gave him a great race.

As always I had a great time. I brought my long time buddy Carroll Ripley (Rip), who was impressed by the amazing camraderie and support this group extends to all. It is unique in the car hobby. I am pretty sure he is coming back next year.

Thanks once again to the entire Covalt family for all their hard work to make this happen. You are all an inspiration. I will see you in the Spring.

Sam

Okay I reread what I wrote and it was misleading on Rodney/Brian's race. They had each ran their normal 60 foot. NOT the same as in the same as each other. In other words both cars ran right for the first 60 ft then they started slowing way down. Does that make since?

I hope my play by play was okay. I just tracked down each pair and asked them to tell me about their races.

Once again I'm putting out the play by play. I'm chasing down racers and getting their details. Some love to spin a yarn others you can't to tell a story so that's why some have so little detail and others have more.

Charlie Schmid vs Rodney Hargis (W)
Rick Covalt (W) vs Micah Covalt
Ron Hamby (W) vs Brian Droschak
Denny Covalt (W) vs Dan Gravatt
Whitney Covalt (W) vs Ryan Covalt
Ken Anderson vs Phil Stoneback (W)
Brian Mimken Bye Run

Whitney beat her husband, Ryan. She lifted at the end to keep from braking out. Ryan might have won, IF he had hit the NOS button instead of the warmer button :(

Micah got the early lead but Rick ran him down at the end.

Dan cut a rough light, hooked great, thought he was going to brake out so he lifted, still thought Denny wasn't anywhere near so he tapped the brakes 5ft from the line and Denny comes zooming by for the win.

Rodney and Charlie both hooked great, both ran great and both broke out. but Charlie broke out the worst sending Rodney on to round two and a bye run.

Both Brain D. and Ron broke out, with Ron taking the win.

Ken red lite giving the win to Phil.

Brian Mimken got the bye run sending him on to round two.

Rick Covalt vs Ron Hamby (W)
Denney Covalt (W) vs Whitney Covalt
Phil Stoneback (W) vs Brian Mimken
Rodney Hargis Bye Run

Rick gave it all he had and then some, and red lite with a -.002. Sending Ron on to Round 3 were he'll face off against Rodney again.

Whitney broke out giving Denny the win. He'll face off against Phil next round.

Phil ran a 18.827 on an 18.80 dial in. with Brian running a .614 on a .5 dial in. Sending Phil on to round three.

Rodney ran a 12.990 on a 12.98 dial in in his bye run.

NOW the guys are looking at the points to see if Ron now has the Championship in hand or if he is currently tied with Anthony.

MORE DRAG RACING RESULTS from Mason Dixon coming soon.

Round 3

Denny through a rod knocking him out of the race sending Phil on to round 4 and the finals

What a nail bitter... Rodney and Ron both dialed in 12.97. They had to wait on the track to be cleaned of Denny's oil. Both car's rear ends cooled down making them run a tad bit slower. But WOW what a race.

Ron had Rodney on the tree. But Rodney quickly pulled away. Rodney held the led until the very end with Ron pulling by him in at the very end!

..........Rodney.........Ron
R/T.....0.061............0.034
60.......1.721...........1.771
300.....5.200...........5.220
660.....8.182...........8.193
MPH....81.75...........79.46
1000...10.808.........10.817
/4.......13.064.........13.056 (ET difference... .008!!!)
MPH....99.22...........100.94

Margin of Victory .0356

Ya'll missed one heck of a race tonight.

Round 4/ Finals
Ron killed Phil on the tree. Phil let off on the top end hoping that Ron was going to brake out. But Ron held true to form and took home the win
